5 ways to reduce no-shows
Every salon owner knows it: the most expensive client is the one who doesn't show up. Here are five habits we have seen work on the shop floor.
1. Remind the day before
A WhatsApp message is enough; no need to call. A single message 24 hours ahead lowers no-shows noticeably.
2. Ask for confirmation
Instead of "see you", ask "can you confirm?". Call the ones who don't answer and give the slot to someone else.
3. Allow online cancellation
Make cancelling easy and people will let you know. A minimum-notice rule (say 2 hours) protects you.
4. Flag chronic no-shows
That is what the note field on the client card is for. Ask for a deposit on the third time.
5. Keep a waiting list
Have two names to call when a slot opens; the daily list in Randavi makes this easy.
